A
brief overview :
COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM, offering services to persons with
persistent or chronic mental illness. These services focus on the person's
strengths, abilities and needs, while including the desire and choices
of each person served.
Services may include:
Identification, assessment, diagnosis of the target population;
Assistance to clients in applying for entitlements or benefits;
Crisis stabilization and intervention services;
Psychosocial rehabilitation services;
Supportive living and working arrangements of indefinite duration;
Medical and mental health care;
Back-up
support and assistance to families, friends and community members;
Involvement of concerned community members in planning and offering
housing or working opportunities;
Protection of client rights, both in hospitals and in the community;
Case management to ensure continuous availability of appropriate forms
of assistance.
WATCH (Western Arkansas Therapeutic Children's Homes), providing
a full circle of care by trained foster parents in a therapeutic home
setting. An intensive backup for the child and foster family is a treatment
team of therapist and case manager, individually suited for each situation.
LEAP ( Language Enrichment & Articulation for Pre-schoolers),
preparing children with the skills necessary to successfully enter public
school, while developing social skills through supervised play in small
groups. Medicaid and ARKids accepted, and transportation is available.
HORIZON (co-occurring psychiatric substance abuse program), serving
adolescents, ages 13 to 18 providing residential and outpatient treatment,
case management, MH Services, social detoxification, always focusing
on individual client input and the well-being of the whole person.
Westark RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) was established
in 1976 and draws upon the unique services and life experiences of older
citizens. Their varied areas of expertise create limitless opportunities
for their involvement in our programs.
Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center serves individuals of
all ages and incomes, striving always to maintain a comprehensive network
of quality behavioral health care services and programs. Our facilities
are staffed by counselors and educators who, with community resources,
enable our programs to function in the areas of community education.
