Western Arkansas Counseling & Guidance Center

Community Relations

Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center is proud of its longstanding relationships with individuals, families, businesses and organizations on the local, state and national levels.

Since 1972, The Guidance Center has worked hand-in-hand in our communities to offer a comprehensive network of behavioral healthcare treatment, education and support. Our primary service area includes the following counties in western Arkansas: Crawford, Franklin, Logan, Polk, Scott and Sebastian.

Community Services

Realizing the need for quality behavioral healthcare in the schools, the Guidance Center has provided School-Based Services in the public schools.  The Center's staff and school officals work together to provide counseling and case management services.

The Counseling Clinic  is a joint effort between the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and The Guidance Center.  University students may access counseling services at no charge for up to eight sessions per year. The clinic is conveniently located at the Smith-Pendergraft Health Sciences Building in Room 312.

The Drug Alcohol Safety Education Program works with the court system and provides screening interviews,  Court ordered classes for DUI/DWI offenders are available in all six counties services by the Center.
