What is Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center?
We are a non-profit, community mental health center (CMHC). We are one of the 14
state
and 600 of the
national
CMHC. We offer behavioral health treatment, prevention and education for persons of all ages including children, adolescents and adults.
What types of services do you offer?
Our primary service, which is offered all of
our clinics
, is outpatient counseling. Other services include day treatment, case management, medication management, group & family therapy, crisis intervention, and psychological testing.
Who can receive services?
The Guidance Center offers counseling services to persons of all ages. As the community behavioral health care agency in western Arkansas our clients are primarily from our service area, which includes Sebastian, Crawford, Franklin, Logan, Scott and Polk counties.
How do I pay for services?
We accept cash, check, VISA and Mastercard. We also bill private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.
For qualified individuals
, a sliding scale fee that is based on family income is also available.
What are your office hours?
Regular business hours are
Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Special Saturday hours are available at the Fort Smith Clinic.
Who provides treatment?
Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center has a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals who include psychiatrists, psychologists, professional counselors, clinical social workers and advance nurse practitioners. A team of mental health professionals administer a variety of programs specializing in individual, group and family therapy.
